Research:
- 1 UNIX R730 6-core server, with 64G memory and 15T disk, hosting a 7TB RAID array for user space, and a Telsa K80 GPU with 4992 Nvidia cores.
- 2 UNIX R530 10-core servers, each with 64G memory and 13T disk, served by the 7TB RAID array for user space.
- 2 UNIX IBM E server blade centers, each containing 14 2-core HS20 blade computers, each with 4G memory and small local disks, used individually by student projects.
Teaching:
- 1 UNIX R510 4-core server, with 24G memory and 5T disk. This serves the teaching and project lab computers.
- 30 UNIX Dell OptiPlex 9020 4-core workstations, each with 8GB memory and 500GB disk, in the UB305 teaching lab.
- 6 UNIX Dell Precision T1700 4-core workstations, each with 8GB memory and 500GB disk, in the UB310T project lab, 2 with high-end graphics
The server room provides pppropriate networking, power, cooling, etc., for all the above ... a 45kVA UPS, and generator backup power; redundant in-row cooling also with generator backup.
The department also offers graduate students several service-oriented assets such as our subversion server, git server, apache HTTP server, database servers, Google Docs, and Amazon AWS Educate.
